GATE Eligibility Criteria GATE Exam 2016 Candidates Qualification

GATE 2016 Eligibility Criteria : The candidates appearing for the GATE 2016 Examination must fulfill all the Eligibility criteria and the Qualifications listed below. IIS has mentioned that the GATE 2015 Eligibility Criteria should be fulfilled and the only candidates are requested to apply online. The candidates application form without Gate 2016 Eligibility will be rejected and will not be allowed to participate in the examination process.

• The candidates must hold an Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma).
• The candidates appearing in the final year of the above mentioned studies can also apply.
• The Bachelors degree holder of Architecture (Five Years Course) and also the final year students are also eligible to apply.
• The Bachelors degree holder of four year program in Science (B.S.) and also the final year students are also eligible to apply.
• The candidates of Masters Degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics, Computer Application or its equivalent and the final year students of the study.
• Four Years Integrated Masters Degree Holders (Post - B.Sc) in Engineering/ Technology.
• Five Years Integrated Masters Degree Holders or Dual Degree in Engineering/ Technology.
• Five Years Integrated M.Sc. or Five Years Integrated B.Sc/ M.Sc Degree Candidates.

GATE 2016 Exam Application Fee and Exam Pattern of Question papers

GATE 2016 Application Fee : The candidates registering for the examination should pay the GATE 2016 Application fees. The GATE 2016 Examination Fee are differentiated for the candidates belonging to different category. The Detailed and Scheduled GATE 2016 Application Fee details are listed below.

• The candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD category should pay the application fee of Rs. 750.
• The women candidates of all category should pay the application fee of Rs. 750.
• All the other candidates should pay the fee amount of Rs. 1500.
• All the above mentioned Application Fee has to be paid only through Online Mode using E - Challan or Net Banking.

Gate 2016 Exam Pattern : The GATE 2016 is an Computer Based Test and in all papers there will be total of 65 questions which carries 100 marks. The GATE Examinations question paper will consists of two different types which are listed below.

1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) : The MCQ will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers and the questions will be of objective type and have four (4) alternative answers and the candidates have to choose only one answer.
2. Numerical Answer Questions : The questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers and sections. The correct answers should be entered by the candidates using the virtual keypad and there will be no choices.
